Christmas and Homeless
The sixth article about homeless on the holidays.

With the approaching holidays, both Thanksgiving and Christmas, you ask yourself, what can I do to make a difference this year in a needy person’s life? These are just a few suggestions in addition to the traditional donations to your local shelter, donating to the Fire mans toy drive, and volunteering at your local soup kitchen. How about choosing an individual, group, or family that you are familiar with and bringing them a back pack to make their journey easier, or a warm clean blanket to keep them warm, a warm coat and hat, or a warm meal. It doesn’t have to be much, remember these people are living on next to nothing. If you are feeling extremely generous and are able, how about a prepaid night on Christmas at a local motel. This person or family can have a nice hot shower or bath all to their selves and have a nice warm bed to sleep in and a chance to watch television. These are things we take for granted everyday of our lives. Make someone feel special and not alone in the world this year. Open your heart this Thanksgiving and Christmas.
