Christmas is much more the gifts. People have always told us that Christmas isn’t about gifts, but when there are children in the home the focus is usually on the gifts and Santa Claus. Now the children are grownup and have families of their own. Unfortunately there is no way of the children making home for Christmas. The home will be just the adults of the home for the first time. Does this mean no Christmas this year?
There is no need to be so drastic and cancel all the fun of Christmas. Instead it is just time for a change. This gives a great opportunity to do parts of Christmas that are really enjoyable and skips the parts that are not liked very much.
Giving
Enjoy giving gifts. Gifts can still be mailed to the loved ones. Better yet a family can be adopted to help out with Christmas. Local churches and the local welfare office have many people who are in need at Christmas time.
Local hospital usually have children who could also need some help at Christmas time. Getting gifts at Christmas will help the children be happier. Plus it can’t be easy on the parents to have a child in the hospital at Christmas time. It would really mean the world to them to offer any help or gifts.
Helping
There are lot of people in need of help during the Christmas time. Some people can’t get out and do the Christmas shopping. Offer your time to help these people. Your time is a gift that will warm their hearts and bring joy into their lives.

Some people love their decorations, but find it very hard to get them out. Offer to help put up and take down decorations can really help cheer up a person and help them to enjoy Christmas as well.
God
Now this is what Christmas is all about. Pull out that dusty bible and read or spend some time in church. Church will not only help you to get closer to God, but are also full of other people who would love to share their time with you.
Christmas is a time to be joyful, happy, and helpful to fellow people. The feeling of Christmas is almost unable to be describe, but the feeling is warm, happy, and full of peace. Just because the children have grownup doesn’t mean Christmas needs to stop, it just changes in the way it is celebrated.
