Christmas Card for 2009

Antique, digitally re-created, animated Christmas Calender.

While visiting family in Germany, I found this antique Christmas Calender in a very old farm-house. I found it interesting, because the Germans have a special Santa Claus day earlier in December, on Christmas day Children are waiting for the Christ Kind to magically come through the window and bring the gifts. Santa Claus does not come with his rein deers, neither is he bringing the gifts through the chimney.

So this Christmas Calender is an early cultural mix. Santa Claus arrives in a Van, delivering his presents via German Postal service.

I scanned and animated it, e.mailing it or sending it as Christmas Card by mail to my friends.
