Christmas Giving

Some thoughts.

Christmas shopping has been uneventfulnot that I mind spending some money on gifts, but when people have nothing to do with you during the year what is the point. So I try not to think of holiday spirits where money comes in the picture. I like giving in other ways throughout the year through charity that doesn’t happen once a year. People should follow that initiative.

I understand that the Quebec government is now going to fund organizations that are charitable in an effort to curb poverty levels in the city of Montreal and that pleases me. Unsurprisingly this announcement came at the end of the year. The government itself should have created funds throughout the year to avoid a last minute rush before the cold and snow. But so it goes, we live in a world of people spending endlessly on gifts without thinking of the great divide between who has and who doesn’t.

You nailed it. Giving is not a one day event. If I see something that I think someone will appreciate, it doesn’t matter what timeof year it is. However, I avoid the ‘Christmas Madness’.
    Thanks,
