The date is perpetually the same.   We are aware that there are 365 days between Christmases, yet still we find ourselves stating, “I can’t believe it’s almost Christmastime again!” Let’s face it, after Halloween, there are only seven weeks left till Christmas. The pressure is on! At this point, decisions must be made regarding your intentions on celebrating Christmas. … Is it to have a family reunion? . . . To impress other people? … To eat, drink, and have lots of fun? … To evaluate the real spiritual meaning of Christmas in your life? … Or just to endure the holidays till all the rush is over? Your priorities reflect your goals, and getting hold of Christmas preparations would help you accomplish them.

If you are reading this article at around November 15th or later, the preplanning period is past, but there are still ways on how to evaluate where you are in terms of time, budget, and skill, including how to cut down your burdens to a reasonable load, and still have the fun of spontaneity, giving, and friendships.

Many find Christmas shopping unbearable; they detest the rush and crowds. If you’re among these folks, you could be better off buying from a catalog, shopping online, or buying one gift monthly throughout the year and stashing them.  Other people love the impulsive Christmas shopping including the sales promos. Their best preplanning technique might be to have a Christmas savings account. It really helps to gather several gift ideas during the year, even if you wait until the week before Christmas to shop.  Besides, this practice does not cost anything at all.  Regardless of when you begin to shop, or whether you delegate it to somebody else, having a list prior to shopping saves a lot of resources.

Good ideas there. I went out soon after Christmas last year and bought all my cards and some presents in the sales. I like to take the stress out of Christmas.

Great article. I sometimes begin buying Christmas gifts for my loved ones about seven or eight months before Christmas, myself. If I see something my gut feeling tells me that anyone of my loved ones would not just like but adore, I buy it. My family and I opened a Christmas Account back in march of this year, that we’ve been adding to all of the time, and every bit of mony we’ve added so far has added up nicely.

I wonder how many of us do prefer shopping online, does it make any difference over prices if we shop online except for the benefit of home delivery.
