Christmas Table Settings
Every Christmas celebration can be enhanced by a beautiful Christmas table. Whether you’re celebrating the holiday with family or friends a warm, colorful Christmas table will help to make your gathering more festive.
The Table Cloth
First of all it’s not absolutely necessary that you use a table cloth, however, it can act as the perfect backdrop for the table’s décor. Very colorful Christmas table cloths can be purchased inexpensively. Or it would be fine to use a white or ivory colored cloth for your backdrop. Lace or linen is always an elegant look. Some of you already have your cloths. But if you need to purchase it, you can spend as much or as little as you are able.
The Decorations
Remember, color is the flavor of the eye. Red and green are the most prominent Christmas colors. Brass candle holders are perfect for use on the table because they add a splash of gold to the mix. If you don’t have them you don’t have to go out and buy them. Any type of candle holder will do, whether they are brass or silver or wood. The red and green candles (also very inexpensive) will add the color to your setting.
Green garland is also a wonderful enhancement to your table. It can easily be used to not only add color, but it will add a fresh, Christmas aroma to the room.
The Center Piece
Bringing the candles and the garland together as a center piece is highly recommended. Your table will be full of place settings so it is practical to concentrate your decorations in the center, thus allowing an open table around the edges.
The Place Settings
Many of you already have Christmas dishes. If you don’t they are not absolutely necessary. Just set the table with your best dishes or china and silverware. Red or green linen napkins are a wonderful touch and napkin rings can really add a sense of elegance. Again, it is not necessary. If cost is a factor just pick up some colorful Christmas paper napkins that are always available around the holiday. If you have brass candle holders and brass napkin rings, they are a wonderful addition to any Christmas table; silver or wood rings work well also.
The Sharing
Of course, the most important part of Christmas is sharing the holiday with family and friends. A cheerful, colorful Christmas table will enhance the experience and give your loved ones wonderful memories for years to come.
