Christmas Trees

What is known as a Christmas tree, Yule tree, or Tannenbaum (German for fir tree) is a popular Christmas tradition. Christmas trees are strung with Christmas lights, and decorated with bright ornaments. Usually, a family lays their Christmas presents under the tree until it is time to open them.

Christmas trees are either artificial or real, and when real the wood used is that of a fir tree. Artificial trees are manufactured by companies who make brushes, and are made in the same way. Green plastic bristles are used in the making of Christmas trees, and look like a real tree.

The top of a Christmas tree is adorned by either a star or an angel, as a symbol of Jesus’ birth. Trees also have many shapes and sizes of ornaments on them, while the most common is a round, spherical bauble. Christmas trees are also adorned with tinsel, garlands, and ribbons.
