Devotion for January 1, 2012
This devotion is from my work Daily Covenant with God newly published in Nigeria. For the sake of my fans and friends who are can’t get a copy, I will be publishing them daily here in Triond. Keep following. Your comment can help me improve.
With You unto Perfection
Text: Gen. 28:15 – Behold I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you (NKJV).
Beloved we wish you happy New Year. This text is the assurance God gave Jacob when he was running away from his brother Esau. This assurance became necessary because God choose Jacob before his birth (Gen 25:23) for a purpose, which he must not compromise as he flees from Esau. God fulfilled this promise because He does not fail (See Num. 23:19).
This same assurance is for your entire family this year. We have just entered into a new year and there are uncertainties about what the year holds for us. Before we entered this year, God planned something special for you, which you must not allow to slip off from your hands because of pressures of life. Obviously, there will be challenges in various areas of life but do not mind the intrigue of the devil. God will perfect all His word upon your family.
Are you afraid of the New Year and not certain of what the year has in stock for you? Know that the will of God is to bless you and your family (Ex. 20:6). His verdict is what matters. Therefore, believe the word of God for it will surely be fulfilled (Mt. 5:18). However, there is a warning for us in Eph. 4:30. You are the one that will stop your blessings coming to you. With God, all things are possible. If you believe this, there is no limitation to your success this year for He is with you wherever you go and whatever you do.
FFT: Does God’s compassion fail (Lam. 3:22)?
Prayer Points:
1) Thank God for the New Year, New month and His word for you
2) Pray, that God will fulfil for you this promise and also for the New Year.
3) Bind every demon and spirit against this promise
4) Pray for God’s ever presence in your life and that of every member of your family this year.
