Do You Have to be Drunk to Have a Good Time?

As being the part of this generations teenage population I sometimes wonder about how immature and stupid my fellow teens can be. Im a 16 year old sophomore in high school and I have never drank any alcohol or done any drugs, but i can’t say the same for my friends. Now don’t get me wrong Im all for a good time and I love to party as much as the next person but it seems like everyones idea of having a good time is either getting completely wasted or getting high out of your mind.

I go to parties every weekend and for once I would like to get through a night without having to hold a girlfriends hair back when they puke or keep one of my guy friends from jumping of the roof naked in to the pool. I guess you could say my prospective is a little different than the average 16 catholic school cheerleader! Sometimes I feel like a Mom when I  should be a normal 16 year old, but I worry about my friends because I care about them more than life and they do ask me to watch out for them when they drink but I also don’t want to go through my high school years only being there as the designated driver or to make sure someone doesn’t get arrested.

I suppose it just makes me a little sad to think that my friends can be possibly setting themselves up to be alcoholics and possibly screwing themselves over later on in life.
