What Makes Me Happy

Being in egg security is one of the most awesome things I’ve ever done. I make children happy when I do the eggs security job at my church every year. I love seeing their smiling faces and hearing their joyous count down.

What Do I Do?

During spring break there is Easter. I volunteer every year with my church because victory family church is just awesome, to be in egg security. This job is when we do an eggstravaganza; which is held at the church where anyone can come in and enjoy what we have to offer. It’s not a service, it’s actually to bring in people from everywhere to have fun. (mostly we have a billion people in our church) I think its funny every year because of the names they’ve given to every job. Well being in egg security is the most fun. we gather the millions of eggs everyone helped pack; which are in bags, and we throw them in a field. Around that field we have a flimsy tape boarder so that the kids won’t pick eggs to early. We call on loud speaker when the field is ready and certain ages go at a time. They line up along the boarder and wait for the count down.

What Do the Kids Do?

As we lay out the eggs and set up the boarder the kids play on air rides, watch puppet shows, get tattoos, receive balloon characters, eat candy and food, race cars, play games, decorate doughnuts and run around, but the whole eggstravaganza is based off the Easter egg hunt. So when the announcements are made that they are ready for an age group to go hunting they scream, yell, and shout about the hunt. There are over a billion eggs to pour onto the field so most likely in the end the parents go home with trash bags full of eggs. The kids gather up their parents and line up along the line. The kids jump and squeal as we put down the rest of the eggs. It’s like this every year, muddy, crowded and hopping. When we put down the rest of the eggs we get the children pumped up. As we count down they yell out the numbers with us. As soon as the number one is said we rip the lines and the kids go running. Kids dive for the eggs, and come up covered head to toe in mud. A couple tackle other kids for a paticular egg. Some crawl for the eggs military style. Alot of the kids just sit there in the mud opening the eggs, eating the from with inside them and throwing the empty egg back onto the ground.

The Parents’ Faces

As the field clears, the parents find their children. Some parents are happy, some not so happy. The parents like it when their kid is happy but not so happy when they find their kid covered head to toe in mud. Especially if they have to go somewhere or just getting in the car. Most of the families that go to my church don’t get what they were expecting, and that’s always a good thing. Happy Easter!!!!!
