Five Fun Creative Things to Do on Father’s Day and What It Costs

Can’t find what you want for your father in the stores? Plan a fun day together! A plan for all budgets!

If the stores aren’t offering enough for that special dad in your life, improvise! Get out the imagination and plan a fun day. Can’t think of any ideas? Here’s some to get your mind moving!

  1. Fishing- What dad doesn’t enjoy a day at the lake? If that’s not enough for him make a bet on who can catch the most fish, or lose the most worms trying! Pack a picnic full of sandwiches, munchies, and beers (or other drink of choice!).

Costs: Fishing licences for two: around $74 , Worms for two: 4-5 bucks a pack, optional picnic: $10-$20= $100 or less!

  2. Wine tasting at a local winery- Most wineries have free wine tasting, which means ultra cheap, but ultra fun! Taste all the wines, then let dad pick his favorite and buy him a bottle!

Costs: Wine tasting: Usually FREE!, bottle of wine: however much your willing to spend = almost free fun filled day!

  3.  Miniature Golfing- although not as grown up as golfing, it’s just as fun and challenging (especially for us untalented golfers!) This is kid friendly, too! After the game opt for ice cream!
Costs: Golf game per person: averaging around $10 or less, ice cream for two: $6 = under $30
  4. Car Show- Many places around father’s day have free or really cheap car exhibits, do some research and find one in your area! Afterwards head home for a BBQ!

Costs: Car show: free or close to it, BBQ- under $10 = under $20

  5. Drive-In movie theatre- These movie theatres of the past will bring back memories for your father! They are the same price as any other movie and usually come with two movies for the price of one! So sit back, relax in your car, and eat some popcorn. Great retro father’s day idea!

Costs: Movie: no more than a regular movie ( around $10 or less per person) some even have a special for car fulls!, Popcorn or munchies for two: $15 or less, free if you bring your own! = under $40

Other ideas include swimming, rollerblading, go cart racing, amusement parks, cooking together, and anything else your father would enjoy! Hope these suggestions got your imagination going! Thanks for stopping by!
