Veteran’s Day is a wonderful time to honor retired and active duty military members for their service. If you are in the military, though, it can be a great day to pick up a free meal or get a discount. Applebee’s is offering free meals all day long on November 11th. Available during business hours on November 11, 2009 at participating Applebee’s only. Dine-in from limited menu only. Beverages and gratuity not included. Veterans and active duty military simply show proof of military service
Golden Corral is giving away a free military appreciation thank you dinner on Monday, November 16 from 5-9 PM.
Krispy Kreme is offering all veterans and active military personnel a free doughnut of any variety. “Krispy Kreme is delighted to offer free doughnuts as a small gesture to thank the dedicated men and women who have served, or are currently serving in the armed forces,” said Ron Rupocinski, corporate chef for Krispy Kreme. “It is our hope that veterans and active military will visit a participating U.S. Krispy Kreme store on Veterans Day to enjoy a free doughnut, and maybe share stories about their service to our country. We salute each and every one of them.”
Veterans and active military personnel will be able to select from more than a dozen varieties – including Original Glazed(R), Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled, Chocolate Cake, Pumpkin Spice and Glazed Raspberry Filled – that are available at most Krispy Kreme locations.

McCormick and Schmicks is hosting a special dinner on Sunday, Nov. 8 and space is limited. There’s a reservation form at the bottom of their page, so RSVP today if you want to attend! Parties cannot be larger than 6 though.
Outback Steakhouse is offering all veterans and active duty military get a free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage.

Sam’s Club is giving away over 25,000 Hugo canes free of charge to United States military veterans in need of mobility assistance. Sam’s Club membership is not required, but supplies are limited so you may want to call before heading there.
Uno Chicago Grill is offering a free entree or individual pizza with an entree or pizza purchase of equal or greater value.
U.S. Department of Interior is offering free admission to any and everyone on Veterans Day. This includes all national parks, forests, and monuments.
There are a few places offering discounts as well.
Build-A-Bear Workshop is giving a 20% discount on any purchase November 11 – 15 to anyone with a military ID.
