Google Celebrates Eight March, International Women’s Day
Google celebrated Tuesday, March 8, International Women’s Day, and the search engine’s logo was adorned with flowers and figures show the three ladies, two of which bears the symbols of the two professions respected teacher and physician.
8th March is celebrated in over 50 countries, and this year is the 100th anniversary of when we celebrate International Women’s Day. The official theme this year is the “equal access to education, training and science and technology: The path to decent jobs for women,” the United Nations.
United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace was proclaimed by a resolution by the UN General Assembly in 1977, without being set on a given day. UN General Assembly also set after March 8 International Women’s Day.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon sent a message on the occasion of Women, stressed the need to improve the situation of women in many parts of the world. “In many countries and societies, women remain second class citizens,” warned the UN secretary general.
He added that differences between men and women on education are becoming smaller, but the situation differs from country to country. In addition, violence and discrimineata are still a problem in schools, workplaces or communities.
The Secretary General emphasized a better representation of women in politics and decision-makers in industry and business, arguing that “only through participation of women in all areas of public life and private society can reach a peaceful, sustainable and just promised by United Nations Charter. “
