Holiday Drinking and Its Consequences

Holiday season is approaching, and it’s time to enjoy what Life is all about. That’s Family Friends and LOVE for most of us. Don’t you just LOVE and LOOK forward to seeing family and friends that you haven’t seen or heard from since last year (including the pitter patter of little feet). Let’s not just get caught up in the flow of just the words HOLIDAY SEASON! In this day and time our children are under so much peer pressure and especially our young adults that are in our sphere of influence you had better believe they are WATCHING us. We really have to have our Guard up to protect them ourselves our Family and our Friends even our neighbors. I CAN’T over EMPHASIZE that enough! It’s the fact that this Season it’s self already brings a NATURAL HIGH OR LOW on us anyway depending upon the financial situation or family situation we are in, so we really don’t need Drugs and/or alcohol. With in mind to each his/her own no judgement call here just an AWARENESS and ACCOUNTABILITY call. It’s really tough times FOR SOME OF US right now – TEMPORARILY because of the economy – so we have to remember keep HOPE alive if we are going to have a DRINK and to make sure we are at Home.

Don’t drink and drive and remember do not let friends and or family drink and drive either – not matter what! If you need to make a scene make a scene they’ll thank you later. I would rather just NOT have a Holiday than loose someone behind one evening or day of fun. We need to have a designated RESPONSIBLE BOLD person watching our activities being assigned to anything that may have drinking involved the person OR PERSONS should be someone you know that DOES NOT drink. Let’s Plan ahead make arrangements and LIVE! I have heard and witnessed some real horror stories of people partying so hard at an occasion that they forgot there’s a tomorrow and they don’t make it to the next day. Leaving behind their loved ones without THEM. I don’t know about you but I don’t want any tragedies this 2008 Holiday Season in my sphere of influence. If EVERYONE us us reach out to someone it WILL make a difference. We have to remember the Holiday Season consists of A HAPPY THANKSGIVING – A MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TOO with in mind MORE TO COME, and that the season only comes ONCE a year and that there is always TOMORROW – So Let’s Be Safe! Let’s be RESPONSIBLE people setting examples. HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON everyone with MORE to come if WE let it be so….
