Holiday Fever
It’s that time of year again.. there are so many festive things to look forward to.
At first, September seems way too early to think about Santa. This year it has been hard to push the holidays out of my mind since at work everyday at Macy’s I have to look at Christmas Trees already up. However, I have decided that I can gradually ease into the seasons since it is now October and the time for spooks, witches, and tasty treats is quickly approaching!
We helped a few friends move into their new house and neighborhood last week and my friend in the middle of the move was experiencing “Halloween Decorating Fever!” At night when we went over to visit a few days later, we noticed how enthusiastic her neighbors were about the holiday. Orange Christmas lights decked out on several of the houses, along with many ghosts and ghouls. I can tell that this will be a fun neighborhood to take their little two year old son Trick-or-Treating! =]
A few nights ago, I made my first pot of home-made chili and it was half decent. Gave me that warm fall home feeling. It wasn’t as good as my Grandmother’s, but everyone has to start somewhere, right?
Last night my holiday spirit really started to kick in as I looked at templates for this years holiday family photo and drafted a newsletter for our friends and family. The newsletter is dated for November 15th, as this is my target date for getting everything sent out before Thanksgiving.
Today I plan on spending $20 at Michaels on scrap booking materials and some new Fall decorations for the house. Going to be slim on the decorations, but I will stock up after the season.. to really go big next year!!
Hope everyone is enjoying this time, where ever you are in the world.
