How to Appreciate The Little Things in Our Life
We should be grateful for everything that we have, no matter how unimportant that it might seem to each of us.
We can all agree that those things that we take for granted each day are considered to be the small things that take place within our life and our environment. We have a place to live and food to eat, and some of us have a job, a family and all of the modern conveniences that allow us to fully enjoy our life.
Then again, there are many people who have a whole lot less than you have and to enjoy just a few of those things that you take for granted would make those people as happy as they can be. Yes, you have a home but there are tens of millions of people on Earth who do not have what most of us believe to be a home where they raise a family, have nice things within that home and return to that place after their day’s work is finished each day. Such people are nomads who survive on what they find to eat on a day to day basis.
Another basic in life is food. On our Earth, millions of people suffer and die each year because they do not have enough food to eat each day. What would you do if suddenly you could not purchase the food that you need to remain healthy and alive?
Then too, you travel to work in some kind of mode of transportation and it is quite likely that you own an automobile, truck or some such powered means of getting from one place to another. However, there are millions of people who have to walk to their destination each day because that is their only means of getting from one place to another.
There are also those many electric appliances that allow us to easily store and cook the food that we eat, provide entertainment, heat or cool our homes and give us light to see where we are going after the Sun sets. Life is very difficult when you do not have electricity in which to power all of those appliances and who, in their right mind, could live without watching television programs each day and/or evening?
What kind of life would you have if none of those things were available for you? You would be living in the “Dark Ages” and your life would be so difficult that it is quite likely that you would die before you became 20 years old. Take a really good look at what you have and think of what your life would be like without all of those things that our modern society provides to each of us. Need I say more?
