How to Avoid Holiday Stress
This is on how to avoid holiday stress.
The holiday is a stressful time for all of us. It’s a fun time since we get to go on trips and spend time with friends but it’s also stressful. It’s a time to relax and get away from work and stress. We should make early plans so that it’s not stressful for the holiday. You should make a list of things you need to do and list of things you would avoid. This will help you eliminate some unnecessary tasks and save you time for more important things. Things that could stress us out include answering to unplanned events or taking care of kids and work responsibilities when you think that you’re done with them.
People call you out of no where and expect you to watch the kids or to drop things off at work or to work more hours or to meet with them. These unexpected plans will cause you further stress and cause you to lose your tight schedule. I always preferred to stay on schedule because it helps keep you organized and help save you time and stress. It’s stressful to answer to everyone out there. This is why I filter my phone calls. You should have caller IDs so you can filter people and only answer to people who you want to answer to. You can hang up or not pick up the phone on those that are not important like advertisers or the guy you met the other night at the club who’s trying to invite you out for Christmas. You should have an agenda for Christmas. If you don’t have them, you will be stuck with any task that flies your way. The best thing to do is to get out your planner and start making plans. The more organized you are, the more time you will save.
Stress comes from taking on unexpected events or not having a schedule to follow. When you have a big family, it’s even more stressful. One of your kids is going to some state for Christmas and you’re going to another state. You have to plan things for them and make sure that they have a good trip. You then have to worry about your pets and make sure that they have a sitter. You have to worry about your parents who have to stay at home. You have to worry about your bills that are due on the 31st. There are so many things that you have to worry about all at once. This is why it’s helpful to make a plan and stick with it so that you don’t fall off of plans. When you don’t have a plan, you will be stress out trying to fulfill everyone’s request. In order to stay alive for the holiday, you should plan early and stick with your plans. If you can delegate responsibilities, then you should delegate to save time. You don’t have to do everything by yourself. You have your wife, kids and parents to pitch in and help out during the holiday.
