How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day Without Feeling Cheesy

Single and available? Available, but your sweetheart is far away? You can always put colours on your Valentine’s Day without feeling too emotional.

Watching couples holding hands while walking and canoodling by the end of the street, inside the bus, on the subway, across the road and everywhere at the mall during Valentine’s day might make you feeling exasperated at times, especially when you want someone to celebrate on such special day. But take heart, you can always make your day as enjoyable as it be.

Make Valentine’s day as the same day as yesterday

Everyday is always fun. Live the day as it comes and as it goes. You may be single but not in the whole span of time. Remember that being single is fun, exciting, free and yes lonely. However, loneliness can be very beneficial too. Having all the time for yourself can be somewhat good, depending on how do you apply it to your life. There are singles who live up their lives expecting their happiness from somebody. I’m not saying that it’s wrong. You cannot depend your happiness to someone else, however. Happiness is not a goal and a dream. It is a state of mind. You just need to define your own definition of happiness.

If you want celebrate it, buy flowers and chocolates for yourself

If nobody buys you flowers and chocolates, buy yourself one. Don’t expect somebody to give you twelve wild roses or six smiling chocolates in the box. Even if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend but doesn’t care about what you want on this day, don’t expect 100% that she or he will give you something for this special occasion. Sometimes, due to hectic and busy schedule, people will absolutely forget that they have someone who wants a present on this day.

Live, Love and Laugh

Follow this rule. You will be happier at the end of the day. Plus, learning how the day went will make your life truly acceptable and content.

There’s only one person in this world that can make you feel sad, lonely and cheesy. That person is “You”. Don’t let your own persona down.

Yes, if we wait on others to make us happy, we will be on a roller coaster emotional ride that will never end. Great job!

I like this view of the day. Thank you. I’m alone this year, so I’m giving myself that big box of Chocolates.

I always felt that if a holiday is needed in order for me to show love to someone, my priorities must be in the wrong place. You’ve have a nice viewpoint though.

I liked it, short and to the point. I’m not single but sounds like good advice for someone who is.
