How to Turn Halloween Into a Gospel Opportunity
Halloween is a secular holiday that is generally not embraced much by Christians. However, it can provide some great opportunities to spread the Gospel.
How many times a year do you have perhaps hundreds of kids coming to your home, knocking on the door and expecting some treat? Exactly one: Halloween. Regardless of how you feel about Halloween and its origins, or even if you allow your children to go out and Trick or Treat, this is a great time to spread the Gospel to many who are quite possibly unchurched and uneducated about Who Jesus is and what He did for them.
I find that tracts are a great way to get the Gospel message into these hands. But it is important that they not be the run of the mill type; you know what I mean by that if you have ever given or received a tract. They need to be unique and something that will drawn in the attention of the recipient.
I find that Living Waters has a great selection of unique tracts that make wonderful presentations of the Gospel and are very affordable. (I am in no way affiliated with this organization by the way.) A few of my personal favorites are the Million Dollar Bill and the Ticket to Heaven(made on un-tearable paper).
If your kids are too old to go Trick or Treating, or if you don’t allow it, this is a great chance to get them in on the action with you. Let them hand out some tracts with the treats of your choice. One note here: Don’t just give out the tracts with not treat. They will look at you as being cheap or worse a hypocrite and the tract will most likely end up unread.
So, go out and get some treats and pick out and order your favorite fun or unique tract. Explain what you will be doing to your kids and/or spouse special this Halloween. And then get ready for a night of spreading the Gospel seed and pray for a season of true Harvest for the Lord.

That’s a good idea! What my family was planning on doing was each of us who are taking the kids trick or treating as well as the kids would dress up as a bible character so when someone asked who we were we could have a chance to witness and who ever stayed at home would pass out candy and tracts to the kids who came to the door
