How We Will Spend Our Christmas Day of 2009
Christmas Day is very special to many families. For us it will be just another working day. Here is how we still keep Christmas alive although we have to work.
Christmas day is very special day for us to spend with our children. Unfortunately we also have to work on Christmas Day. We simply move our Christmas to our Day off. The Monday before Christmas will become our Christmas day. This way we can have two days to sit and have fun with the children. Santa has graciously agreed to come early since we have to work on the real Christmas Day. It helps Santa to not have such a busy night on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve we will have a nice ham dinner. There will be lots of side dishes like, potatoes, stuffing, and green bean casserole. It will be way more then we can get but this will make a nice left over dinner for Christmas Day. After we clean up dinner we will sit in front of the TV to watch a Christmas special or Two. We have many recorded or bought just in case they are not on TV. Around nine it will be time to tuck the boys into bed. Santa stop in after everyone is fast asleep.
Christmas morning the kids will wake up by eight. We go out to our living room that will be lighted up by the Christmas tree. Everyone will check their stocking to see what they have. Then we will take a small break before unwrap the Christmas gifts. Santa will have all the kids present wrapped so they remember to eat breakfast. Then we will unwrap one Christmas gift at a time, this way a picture can be taken with each present. The next Christmas gift can be open as soon as we put the wrapping paper from the previous gift into a bag.
After we have all the gifts unwrapped we will clean up a little and put the gifts in a temporary safe spot. Then we will let the kids choose what gift they would like to play with. The next two day will be spent setting up new toys and games as we play with the children.
