As a catholic we never celebrated Halloween at home or when I was teaching, but I always found it a great stimulus for creative writing with the children and the school didn't frown on that. His response was that this holiday is for people who worship the devil. In my heart I really believed that there was nothing wrong with the children accepting candy and wear beautiful customes.
