Is There All About Christmas?

Christmas time – such a joyous, merry, lovely time of a year! Everything is dictated by Christmas in December. But where does it really lead? Are really people so happy during Christmas time? See how I spent my Christmas time. Maybe You`ll remember what Christmas meant.

Beloved Christmas, day of celebrating  Jesus birth. Holiday of peace, love, family togetherness, tree decorating, singing and attending mass. Everyone is so happy, cities all in light, people get together once again – and mix their hearts in a warm family/friendly atmosphere. Children are in expectation of their presents, Santa is going around the world doing hard work and everything is supposed to be so peaceful and jolly.

Maybe Christmas is all that – actually, maybe it was. People of older age could tell stories and stories about their Christmas celebrations. They didn’t have everything we have today, still, they had something we’ll never have.

All family together, under decorated Christmas tree under which stood modest signs of care (orange, apple, wooden toys, dolls, cakes) sang all night long. When time came, they went all together in church, holding hands, smiling at each other. People were connected. Families were connected. Love was big and bright!

I don’t feel Christmas today! I don’t celebrate it – not the way it is celebrated today.

All I see today are shop windows full of white and red stuff, crowded gift shops, crowded shopping malls, people in hurry while buying presents, and bank account in debt after Christmas. Marketing – it is all it is! Who bought more presents, who has better Christmas party, what will I get, and what will I buy! Santa on every corner of the street, light on houses, a lot of electricity spent, a lots of trees cut and a lot of food prepared.

That isn’t all. Eating like a pig, and drinking all day – a common thing for Christmas.

Even in media they say it’s impossible to avoid fat food and a lot of cookies and cakes. These are the facts   nobody questions if they’re right.

Everyone feels forced to celebrate Christmas – it is something it would be disgrace not to do.

But is it really what Christmas is supposed to be?

Shouldn’t Christmas be more than just it?

Are you familiar with the fact that that in holiday time there is a bigger number of self suicides?

That while modern world is gormandizing, there are families that are starving and mothers than can’t dress their children? And they’re all looking at a fake picture of Christmas that just makes them feel worst!

There are so many people that are alone in world – how do they feel when everything goes around Christmas, about being with friends and family – even it is just a story, not how it really is.

Marketing is making fools of us, a blind, obedient sheep with a big will to spend money.

People forgot what Christmas really is. People forgot what life really is.

So how I spent my Christmas if not celebrating it? Well… I did celebrate it in my own way.

I spent morning in an dog shelter taking care of abandoned and abused dogs – cleaning, feeding them, and taking them for a walk. That was the best thing I could do. But there was one more thing.

In the near I met a women with three children – and no money for food, clothes for her and husband, not even for children. That is what made my cry. While I knew what happens in many homes, this family had nothing, and I sow it happening – empty table on a Christmas day.  In a cold winter day, the woman was standing outside without a jacket – and begging us for some clothes for children. What can be worst for a mother than not be able to take care of her children.

And it was supposed to be Christmas! Was it for them?

I called my friends, we collected some food, clothes for children, everyone gave little something from him, and in the end, my car was full of everything. Smile on their faces was incredible! There is nothing in the world that could pay that! No food, no drinks, no gifts, no presents, no money… Smile that I sow on their faces!

There is when I found out what Christmas really is!

All their daughter wanted is one old doll – because she had non in life.

All their son wanted was a soup – they had none.

All that women wanted was a jacket – she had none.

Were they asking too much?

Is it Christmas than, all you can see today in Christmas time? I doubt it.

Marketing.

It’s all it is.
