Not Guilty,

It just can’t be

Was the Jury tampered with
Were they Crazy or is it that
They JUST COULDN’T SEE!

We all saw the Video
Not Once Twice or Thrice
As The Cops toyed with Rodney
Like a cat toys with mice

We ALL heard the Verdict
When the Guilt was denounced
Yet, Gates wasn’t ready
When the Community pounced

He addressed the Media
To show some concern
But in his mind he was thinking
BURN BABY BURN!!

Confront him if you will
Surely he’ll deny it
But the word on the street
was RIOT! RIOT! RIOT!

LOOT! LOOT! SHOOT! SHOOT
You’re seeing it Live
Little did they know
That this uprising would
BE TELEVISED!

CHOPPERS, CHOPPERS, CHOPPERS
But where are the COPPERS??
Nowhere to be found
Meanwhile the looters
Are burning,
Burning the buildings
Down to the ground

Poor Mr. Denny
Who had no defense
Was punched, kicked
and beaten
‘Til he lost all his sense

There were some good people
Who came to his aid
At the hospital they left him
For they too were afraid

Back to the looting
All Night and All Day
As the Police stood by
With little to say

Shoo, Shoo, Go away
As though they were pests
Never the words uttered
YOU ARE UNDER ARREST!

The looters were Black
White and Hispanic
Civil unrest truly a
Community in Panic

The worst is OVER NOW!
Time to CLEAN-UP and MEND
And do everything possible
So that it NEVER EVER, HAPPENS AGAIN!!
