Karate Kid Costumes

Along with our fascination of all things concerning the martial arts, comes a love of dressing up in martial arts costumes.  The styles and choices are extensive, and often the uniforms or garments can be gathered from home, without the necessity of purchasing too many props. 

Martial arts costumes can be tweaked, as well, adding a touch of the macabre, by simply turning your karate kid into a ghoul in a gi, or a Zui Quan Zombie.  Perhaps the all-time favorite martial arts costume is the Ninja Warrior.  With its hood and mask, and traditional black color, this is a great look, and an excellent costume idea.  There are other ninja costume choices, as well.  You might be interested in the Black Bands Ninja, the Wildfire Ninja, Night Rogue Ninja, Fire Ninja, Speed Ninja, Dragon Ninja, Silver Warrior Ninja or even the Ninja Queen Costume.  There’s also the Red Dragon Ninja and Shadow Ninja, or for the punkster in you, the Punk Ninja just might fit the bill.

Some other fun martial arts themed costume ideas might include Samurai Warrior costumes, Karate Kid costumes, and the Little Dragon Kung Fu Costume. If you want to spice up your costume, and give it a sexier style, the Karate Cutie or Street Fighter costumes would work quite well.  These costumes also come in extra large and plus sizes, to accommodate any body type.  There is even a Sensei Master costume, if that is more to your liking.  You can go with the Karate Kid-Cobra costume, or the Cobra Kai Skeleton costume, as well, and the Karate Kit Daniel-San Replica Gi is a popular choice.

Branching off from this theme, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costumes are always a great choice.   Whether you choose Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael or Michelangelo, you will be a party favorite.  The Power Ranger costumes are quite popular, as well.  You can opt for the Red Ranger, the Black Ranger, Blue Ranger, Yellow Ranger, Pink Ranger, and Green Ranger.  Most of these costumes come in both male and female sizes, as well as plus sizes, so you can personalize one to fit your own tastes and personality.  Jackie Chan costumes are a great hit, too.  The Shindu Dragon Shadowkan and Shidu Fire Shadowkan are great ideas for your next costume party. 

Creating your own martial arts costume is certainly possible.  You just might be lucky enough to know someone who practices martial arts.  If so, borrow their gi.  They can probably lend you a prop or two, like a pair of Nunchucks.  You could also simulate a practice gi by finding a loose fitting pair of white pants and a white wrap around jacket.  Use a long, colored belt, wrapped around your waist, and you are good to go. 

With the popularity of martial arts television shows and movies, choosing a martial-arts-themed costume is still a very popular choice.  You can lean more toward the traditional, authentic look, or opt for a more commercialized style.  Either way, you will make an impact.
