Keep Your Christmas Decorations Green

Decorate your tree with organic ideas such as food.

Decorating your Christmas tree this year should be as green and organic as possible. I always suggest reusing your decorations for as many years as possible, and when something is broken either try to repair it or create something different out of it.

Here are some organic and different suggestions for you this year. Use the three simple rules this decorating season. Recycle, reuse, and compost. I firmly believe in recreating as much as possible from one item.

 Stringing Popcorn

Take yourself back to the olden days of stringing popcorn. This is a great family craft to do together, and is an organic idea. You can compost it when the season is over.

 Gingerbread Cookies

Homemade gingerbread cookies can be eaten off the tree, and are so great to make with the children. Make enough that a few can be eaten each day until the day you take the tree down. Any type of cookie will do, or even some sort of baked treat wrapped.

 Previous Christmas Cards

You can turn your old cards from the previous year into something different. The pictures on the front of the card are too pretty to simply toss in the trash. Recycle them into another decoration. If you have cards from other seasons, get creative with them too. I have found cards in the garbage and could never understand why they did not recycle them into something more creative.

 Broken Bulbs

If any of the bulbs are broken, do not just toss them in the garbage. You can place them in a glass or vase with some beads as a decoration. The light still shimmers off the broken pieces. Make sure to keep up high in case of children or pets. If you have pets or children consider this a gift to someone else. Beads can be purchased at most Good Wills.

 Nuts

Small bags of nuts also work as a decoration. Simply take a piece of old fabric, place the nuts in the centre of the fabric, and tie it. Cut the fabric in a circle.

 Photographs

Try placing family photographs on your tree. Personal keepsakes also work.

These are only a few suggestions of the realm of possibilities to decorate a tree as organic and green as possible. Keep the ribbon that is tied around your gifts, this is also works as bows that you can tie on the branches of your tree.

Keep green this coming Christmas season.

thanks guys, I am not being vain when I ask this, I had a weird situation pop up with a woman getting weird about one of my articles that is getting views like you would not believe the children safety article

did it get hot content the past few days? because she never bothered to try to correct it or talk about it when I had it posted up last week, and it is getting many views..it is top on my dashboard, I rarely pay attention to hot content because even the worse of poems can achieve this function, I am just wondering how she knew, because I do not believe in coincedence that the one getting me the most, she is discussing almost a week later?
