Know Your Christmas Present Before Christmas!
The title is pretty self explanatory.
Hey kids! Is Christmas too far away for you to wait? Do you want to know what you’re getting NOW? Well, you could try your luck at the Guessing Game by shaking it and asking your parents incessantly for hints. Or, you can be sure of what it is and go a step farther.
What You Need: A box-opener. If you’re gonna make this work, you’ll also need Stealth, the ability to act secretly, and, more important, quietly.
The Process: This is a 3 step process guaranteed to let you know what you’re getting for Christmas, but whether or not you actually receive the gift and/or get grounded for a month ultimately depends on how quiet you are. You don’t want anyone to catch you, do you?
Step 1: Go to the tree at 3 in the morning when everyone’s asleep and quietly pull out the present you want to know about. Silence is crucial here because the rustling of the tree is a very obvious sound most definitely heard throughout the house.
Step 2: Put the present on the ground. Take your box-opener and carefully cut a large square out of the giftwrap. NOT the box, the Giftwrap. Look at the box. If it says what’s in it, then you’re good to go. If it doesn’t, carefully (and quietly) cut the box open. Not a large square, just cut down the middle and open the flaps. Find out what’s inside. Once you do, move on.
Step 3: If you had to cut the box, simply close the flaps. Don’t worry about masking tape, it’s way too loud and you’ll wake everybody up. After you close the flaps, get some Scotch tape, or something relative to it, and accurately tape the Giftwrap square back in its place. Take your time, because it needs to look as though nothing happened. Once you tape that back up, put the present either behind the tree, facing so that the taped square is against the wall, or put it anywhere else around the tree, the square facing the floor.
Tip for Christmas Morning: When you go to open that present, open it with the square facing down so that nobody’s suspicious of it. Just go nuts on the paper and nobody will see a thing.
Good luck, and don’t make any noise!
