Last Minute Christmas Shoppers
Some last minute shoppers find it difficult to get into the Christmas spirit before the decorations are up.
Last Minute Christmas Shoppers
Many people do most of their Christmas shopping at the last minute, searching for the perfect gift for kids and friends. The crowded parking lots at the mall or shopping center, the stores filled to capacity with frantic shoppers and the long lines at the check-out center may be what gets many shoppers in the Christmas spirit.
Although Christmas comes at the end of the year and people have a whole year to prepare for it, they prefer to wait until the last minute to enjoy the excitement of the crowds. Some may wait because of work schedules, tight budgets or waiting for special year-end sales.
Some last minute shoppers may have no choice because of work schedules. For example, school teachers are busy with holiday activities before school closes for the winter holiday, taking some of their evening shopping time to help with school Christmas programs. College students are also busy studying for finals and most likely low on money for gifts. With the semester ending in early December they will have a couple of weeks to earn some quick cash and find time to shop.
People who live in cooler climates love to wait for the first snowfall to get them in the Christmas spirit. There is something about the cold, the crowds and the bustle of the season that is exciting and makes shopping much more fun.
Some shoppers may have their money in a Christmas account that has a restriction on when the account can be closed, which is often the first week of December. For these individuals it would be wise to use a lay-away plan or a special credit card, paying the balance when they receive the money from their Christmas account.
Many enjoy shopping at the last minute because they find it difficult to get into the Christmas spirit before the decorations are up, they may need to hear the Christmas music and smell the aroma of the Christmas trees to get into spirit of the holiday.
Many last minute shoppers actually prefer to do their Christmas shopping as a kind of challenge. Although short on time they will have gifts for everyone on their Christmas list, wrapped and under the tree before Christmas eve.
