Life’s Milestones
As my birthday looms I ponder the milestones I’m yet to undertake.
16, on the face of it it should not be an important age, yet everyone thinks of it as one due to legal reasons. At 16 you are famously able to have sex legaly, smoke cigerettes, drive a mini tractor, drive a moped, buy a lottery ticket, take out an isa (which I plan on doing instead of buying a lottery ticket, just the kind of man I am), get a debit card, get married or have a civil partnership, drink with your meal if accompanied by an 18 year old, leave school and all education and although there are many many more things you can do, I don’t want to begin to ramble. All of these things is what makes becoming 16 such a milestone.
Some might say that 17 is a milestone because you are able to take your driving test, however I believe the next real milestone after 16 is 18 for obvious reasons, you are deemed an adult, you can legally buy alcohol, cigerettes, legal highs, you can vote and so on… In other words you are deemed mature.
After 18 the so called big years are few and far between… 21 is probably the closest to a real milestone within the next 10 years, as it is the minimum age to be the prime minister of England, and also at 21 you can buy alcohol legaly anywhere in the world (other then countries that prohibit it).
These three milestones i believe to be the most important of your life, with a gap of only 5 years between them, it is quite possibly the most impossible few years of your life. Make the most of them.
