New Year Resolutions
Every year we make New Year Resolutions, probability is that by the end of January we have weakened and given up trying.
The way to achieve completing our New Year goals is to take baby steps.

We rush into our new projects and promises with great enthusiasm, we buy every diet book going, join every help group we can afford, stub out cigarettes with great flourish, then buy enough sweets to fill a candy store. New trainers are bought for jogging, used for the task in hand about twice and then sit in the cupboard, along with keep fit equipment, the guitar, rug making kit and many other ‘must have’ bits and pieces.

The way to achieve the goal you have set yourself is to break it down, don’t target January, use the whole year, vary the way you want to get to your goal.
Reward yourself each time you get to the next stage, and most importantly of all, enjoy what you achieve.
Don’t punish yourself if you falter, pat yourself on the back for getting so far and then get back on track. Take pride in the fact that you made a decision to improve your life, and have ventured on the path of success.

My daughter used to call them ‘New Year Revolutions’ and maybe she was right because they usually revolve round to the next year when we make them again.

Good advise. Sometimes when the steps we take are too big…we fall flat on our faces.

Hi, excellent I have been working on giving up smoking over the last couple of months. I was down to ten a day (sometimes five)…then Christmas came and I now smoking 12-15! Hopefully next week my willpower will be back on track

I need to go with the flat belly diet. For some unknown reason I don’t seem to be able to eat and drink as much as I used to without getting a little…. porky!
