Not Your Traditional Christmas Ornaments: 15 Ornaments for Those Non-Traditional Trees

Not everyone wants to have photos of their kids hanging from every branch and home-made ornaments that kids have made at school. Not everyone likes candy canes (I guess). It’s good everyone likes different things. The world would be so boring if everyone was all the same. I think we all have one or two wacky ornaments on our trees. We have a Christmas pickle for some reason. Here are some other people’s special ornaments.

Christmas isn’t all about who’s tree is shiniest or the most perfect.  I love the trees where all the ornaments are family momentos handed down.  I love hand made ornaments, especially funny ones from kids.  Here’s a look at some of the other funky and odd ornaments in houses outside of your own.  Some are definitely worth a try while others, well, I’m not quite as sure about.

For only $19.95 these over the top geeky ornaments can be yours.  That right, only twenty bucks for all three of them, how could you go wrong?  The website also sells heart shaped ornaments, keyboard button key chains, cuff links, necklaces, and a range of jewelery for women made of circuit boards.  Hysterically funny and worth checking out.

That retro santa has the creepiest look on his face.  And it looks like he’s tied the other Santa up with ribbon.  And I wonder why so many kids are scared of Santa!  It’s that song Santa Claus is coming to Town — “He sees you when you’re sleeping. He knows when you’re awake. He knows if you’ve been bad or good so be good for goodness sake!”.  Yikes!!!

I’m not a very religious person myself but a pig at the top of the tree?  There just has to be something wrong with that!  It looks like a princess/fairy/angel pig of some sort.  Weird.

Okay, and I thought that the Santa face was creepy!  Look at those eye brows…  I don’t know if it’s supposed to be the Joker from Batman or if it’s just some crazy, possessed elf that has escaped from the North Pole.  Either way, not very festive!

What a wonderful display of ornaments. I really am blown away by the tampon one, though. Interesting article, Paula. Well done.
    God bless.

I actually know someone who made tampon angel and Santa ornaments. I bought a bunch from her and gave them as gifts. LOL!

Call me old fashion but I love picture ornaments. Every year I add new family photos. I call my yearly tree of life. Love the variety of ideas you’ve shown.
