Resolutions

New Years resolutions.

The most popular new year’s resolutions according to Wikipedia are,

  1. Lose Weight
  2. Pay Off Debt/s
  3. Save Money
  4. Get a Better Job
  5. Get Fit
  6. Eat Right
  7. Get a Better Education
  8. Drink less Alcohol
  9. Quit Smoking
  10. Reduce Stress Overall
  11. Reduce Stress at Work
  12. Take a Trip
  13. Volunteer to Help Others

Each of us make a New Years Resolution and yet we break them so easily.

Now there are several sites online to do this on.  So I thought this year I would follow my own and report back on whether or not I actually manage to keep them.

For that I have chosen this site:

http://www.lifetango.com/

So if anyone wants to join me on there you will find me as allopewolf.  But I figure, what the hell lets see if  New Years Resolutions are achievable or not by trying.

So

Here are my new years resolutions or at least some of them.

My new year’s resolutions.

1.                       Do the teaching assistant’s course

I have a child with behavioural Autism so a nine to five job is not feasible but working in the shool system as a Teaching assistant would fit in as we would be on holiday at the same time.

2.                     Take a small course once a month from one of the online sites.

There are many online sites that offer free or cheap course’s.

www.alison.com is one such site that covers IT and HSE certification and is well worth a look, unfortunately I have already completed their courses so I will need to look elsewhere.  More in the January update.

3.                     Lose weight with Herbalife

I have been on Herbalife early in 2008 and lost 36lbs but I gave up, although I have kept the weight off, so in the New Year I shall restart that and see how long I manage to keep it and how much weight I lose.

4.                    Finish as much craft work as I can

With having a autistic child, I spend a lot of time in the principals’ office waiting for her to finish detention.  (Yes kids with behavioural Autism get Detentions like every other kid.)  So I always have a small project in my bag.  Leading o several needing finishing.

5.                     Get provisional licence

Okay this one is down to my own stupidity.  I had a provisional licence as a teenager.  I could even drive a car just never got round to taking the test so its now “finger outta butt time” and get it done.  Again more in a later update.

6.                     Take and pass the test

7.                    Get photo licence

The last two are self explanatory so I won’t insult anyone’s intelligence by explaining.

A lifestyle change never comes without effort so with luck these will be achieved with a little effort and that from myself.  In making them I looked back at 2008.

And yes, I am aware that 2008 is not over yet but none the  less I looked back at what I had managed to achieve without making resolutions so really wondering what I can achieve with set goals.

35 Certificates,  3 passports, a new laptop and finally getting the courage to actually try to get something published I think it’s time to experiment with whether I can keep to goals or not.  So let’s see.  Anyone want to join in the experiment is welcome.

Happy new Year Everyone.
