Respect Yes, Gratitude No
Why I’m not grateful to America’s soldiers.
Memorial Day is the time when Americans are supposed to be grateful for the people who have supposedly fought and died for our country.
I don’t wanna.
In my religion we don’t believe in no fightin’ and dyin’ We beleive that we are all one with each other and one with God. So if I were to shoot an ”enemy” soldier. I would be shooting myself, all my fellow humans and God. God doesn’t like being shot.
If you want to call me unpatriotic for thinking that go right ahead, I don’t mind.
I still respect the military. I respect anyone who does what they believe is right, even if I disagree. After all being a pacifist is all about accepting other people’s values and not having enemies. But respect and gratitude are two different things. So I can still respect soldiers. But gratitude?
I don’t think I can manage that
