Shopping Days Countdown to Christmas
When you think of Christmas, the first thing that come to mind is shopping for gifts. Start your shopping days countdown to Christmas.
There are many days you can devote to Christmas shopping. Start early and you’ll not be in such a rush to get presents for your loved ones. This is your shopping days countdown to Christmas.
Black Friday
This is the day after Thanksgiving which is the last Saturday of the month of November. This is the official beginning of the Christmas season and you can take advantage of the many Black Friday sales to shop for Christmas presents.
On this day, many shops will open early and close later than usual. Some people would even camp outside the stores to get in when the stores open their doors. This is the day when many items would be marked down drastically even up to 70% below the regular price.
Cyber Monday
This is the Monday right after the Black Friday weekend. What didn’t sell on Black Friday would be offered on Cyber Monday. You can still grab the low-priced items if they haven’t been grabbed yet on Black Friday.
First Saturday of December
This is the first weekend of December. Weekends are days when people are free to go shopping. Those who are early Christmas shoppers would probably be half way through their Christmas list by now. But those who’re just starting would simply be browsing for the best presents to give their loved ones.
National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
Most aren’t aware of this day but to war veterans, this is an important day which falls on December 7th. Those who died at Pearl Harbor during World War II would be honored on this day.
Second Saturday of December
Another weekend to do the shopping before Christmas and still some more time yet to get presents for everyone. For those who’s done their shopping, they can relax at home but for those who haven’t done any shopping yet, signs of annoyance is quite obvious on their faces when people ask them if they’ve finished their Christmas shopping.
Second Sunday of December
Time to go to church. You don’t want to appear to be a “Christmas only attendee”. You want to start showing up to church before Christmas so people will get used to seeing you there by the time Christmas is here. A little shopping can be squeezed in after church and you need to start mailing Christmas greeting cards by this week.
Third Saturday of December
This is the first day of Hanukkah. Only one full week left until Christmas. This is the absolute last minute shopping that you need to do otherwise you won’t have time to buy nice presents for everyone. Now is the time to draw up your shopping list for ingredients to cook your Christmas dinner.
Third Sunday of December
By now, all the presents should have been wrapped and hidden. Final planning for Christmas dinner should also have been prepared.
December 21st
Three days before Christmas. Only last minute planning to be done. Shopping for ingredients for Christmas dinner should all be done by now.
December 22nd
This is the first day of winter. If you haven’t done any Christmas shopping yet, what can I say? Shopping malls and supermarkets will be swamped with people and if it has started to snow, you’ll have a hard time driving through traffic. You might even have to fight for a parking space.
December 23rd
This would the single craziest day to be out shopping. Those who still haven’t finished with their Christmas shopping would be fighting for the last turkey, the last toy and the last parking space. Do not go out on this day if you’re thinking of doing any shopping. Thank goodness you’ve finished your shopping and can now relax and think about the dinner you’ll be preparing tomorrow.
December 24th
Christmas Eve. It’s magical everywhere. The lights, the big Christmas tree at the downtown area. Such wonderful scenery.
Christmas is the best time of the year for everyone. Giving gifts and receiving them. And decorating the Christmas tree. It is the best holiday to spend with your family.
