Thanksgiving Ideas
What to do this Thanksgiving.
Once again, it is that time of year that we enjoy the most. No, it is not the start of the school year for our children, but the time when things tend to slow down for everyone’s favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. Typically, people try to come up with great Thanksgiving ideas.
Do I invite family to my home? Do we go to our sisters, or bothers homes for the day. Do we need to travel far? I really think everyone has the wrong idea about Thanksgiving. While Thanksgiving has its basis in Colonial America when the Pilgrims’ celebrated with the Native American Indians, in our world today, it has turned into a laborious activity. Remember, traffic on the roadways and in the air is heaviest during Thanksgiving.
So, what do you do? Well, the best ideas for Thanksgiving are the simplest of all. Stay home. Avoid travel and much as possible. Do your food shopping earlier in the week. If you are committed to have family come over, then have them come for two or three days (provided you all get along), as opposed to driving over in the morning, eating and then leaving.
Cooking a turkey and preparing the side dishes is not such a labor anymore. You can now buy everything you need prepackaged and you simply warm up the food. Enjoy your Thanksgiving meal, and later in the day take the children out to see a movie and have fun. Spend time with your own family. Remember, Thanksgiving is not about eating, but enjoying your family. That makes for the greatest Thanksgiving idea ever.
