The Christmas Songs You Want to Hear, But Probably Won’t
Get a listen so some of the best and funniest holiday songs that never get played enough on the radio.
Okay, there are TONS of Christmas songs. Most of them are of the traditional kind, sung by a choir or Bing Crosby.

But Christmas isn’t just about reverence and religion, it’s also a fun time for frolicking, frivolity, and fun. So, while your radio stations may be blasting all the same-old, same-old songs for the next month, here’s a list of the often-ignored holiday music you know you love!
Forget partridge in a pear tree – let’s grab a beer! Here are the McKenzie Brother’s version of the 10 Days of Christmas. All the proof you need that being out-of-tune cannot stop you from coming out with a timeless classic.
Christmas will always remind me of being a child. No one can rip open a beautifully wrapped present like a kid hoping for the toy at the top of their wish list. Maybe that’s why I absolutely adore this little song about a girl’s one wish for Christmas.
I don’t know why this next one makes my list. Basically, you combine a speech impediment with depression and you get this. But I just can’t help loving Porky Pig’s take on Blue Christmas.

While this one isn’t the childish-type of fun Christmas song, it definitely is not traditional either. A bit sultry, a bit seductive. This was a song made for the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Betty Boop. Here’s Kylie Minogue’s rendition of Santa Baby.
Usually it’s the lyrics that make for a great Christmas song. Well, for my last offering I argue it’s the dancing that makes this bit of music a classic!

Yes, Christmas should also be about fun. I certainly could use more fun in my life even though I’m not a kid.

Hey Sophie…a full 12 Days of Christmas salute to you for this wonderful expose of Christmas spoof songs…You have just managed to scratch the surface of course but these give a nice break to the traditional songs that seem to get played to death. Not saying that I don’t appreciate the traditional songs and Christmas carols, but the spoofs are kind of refreshing. Thanks.
