The Holidays From My Perspective
Read It!
I’m a 15 year old kid who, from my knowledge, has a different outlook than a lot of kids my age of the holidays. Or atleast what they tell their parents…..
I’m not gonna lie, for me, it’s about the gifts. I don’t look at the religious aspects of Christmas! I get stuff. How can I concentrate on God when I’m getting stuff?!?!?!
Another thing, when did it go out of style to get your kids a surprise? It’s more exciting knowing that there’s something under that tree that I don’t know about. Sure, I wanna know something, just to make sure I’m not getting a sweater, but other than the obvious, I like surprises!!!
On the note of the sweater thing, don’t get stupid things for your kids. Nobody wants a sweater, no matter what the age, or gender. If you have a 5 year old boy, get him that action figure he’s been raving about! He doesn’t want to look cute for the other parents, you want him to. That’s the reason he’ll complain constantly about wearing it he gets it.
Same goes for all dumb gifts. And some things just aren’t gifts! Fruitcake, a spa treatment for your husband, a PDA for your 2-year old. Just don’t do it. Listen to your kids and take in the knowledge. They will tell you at some point what they want, trust me. I know from experience, I’ll make sure you know what I want, so you don’t screw it up. I’m not being mean, just truthful.
