The Twelve Blogs of Christmas, Day Eleven

Nearly there now.

As no general housekeeping had taken place on either Christmas day or Boxing day today was spent having a general clean up. I drove to the recycling unit to offload the card board that we had accumulated from Christmas and from there called at the supermarket for some fresh salad for my pet Tortoise.

Last nights dream was so vivid, It found me among ancient ruins in a town called Mint in the country of Turkey. It was so vivid and real that on waking I decided to google the town of Mint in Turkey and suffice to say, I was suitably crest fallen to discover that the town of Mint in Turkey exists only in my subconscious, That aside it was still a very nice and interesting holiday for me inner observer. I am very much a fan of dreams as they seem to furnish us with exciting and adventurous excursions without the added bother of booking, packing and travelling to our destination, though I do accept that the choice of destination is left pretty much up to the subconscious.

I am currently reading the forefather of all bloggers, Samuel Pepys and find myself much amused that the same issues that befell him, still, in one respect or another befall us today. I am not sure that he meant to be funny or amusing but I simply could not, with my infantile sense of humour, resist smiling at the fact that his nose got so cold in the snow that it became swollen.
My vivid imagination produced a picture in my mind of the sophisticated and articulate Mr Pepys in his Night shirt sporting a bulbous purple nose.

The Sony e reader that I got for Christmas is proving a most useful toy to me. Yes, you can buy new. copyright protected publications and down load them but for me the added advantage of being to populate the machine with out of print and out of copyright free material is very useful. Having an interest in esoteric and occult studies I have been able to obtain the private dairies of the astrologer Dr John Dee, Queen Elizabeth the firsts personal astrologer along with a little work by Aliester Crowley. not only that , I have also got my hands on an electronic copy of the malleus maleficarum.

The top news today is that Nine potential terrorists have appeared before magistrates. It seems they had plans to initiate bombings in UK cities, all of which serves as a reminder to me that we do live in a troubled and potentially lethal world.
