Treats of Halloween

Halloween always use to be one of the times of years I looked forward too. I got to dress up, go trick or treating, painting scenes on our windows and haunted houses and hay rides. As I got older the only fun I had was dressing up, I was loosing interest in everything else, and it made me upset. People said I was too old to trick or treat. I was now part of the haunted house, and learned that it’s really not that scary, everything was just boring. A little over three years ago, I got pregnant with my daughter, and about 8 months ago I had my son. Since then Halloween still hasn’t been the same, but instead it brought a different kind of fun into the picture. I get to dress them up, the get to be the ones to go out and get candy, and my husband, my two children and myself have all been a part of a haunted house and hayride this past year. Having kids puts a twist on things, but I enjoy it. They brought my holiday spirit back, and although it may not be the same as when I was a kid, we get to build new traditions and make then have fun like I use to when I was their age.
