Triond Sunday School Lesson 13: Holiday Sharing of a Moment of Our Time

How can people can give back to this world during the holidays? It’s about giving of their time unselfishly. God has been good to us. Let us give unto others even if it’s just a smile for someone this holiday season.

Holidays are spent much too quickly. Hurrying here and hurrying there. Let’s ponder upon how we as God’s people can just take life a little slower and take the time to just smile at someone and feel the rewards.

During the holidays think about baking a cake and taking it to a nursing home. Many of these older folks have no visitors. Give them that awarding winning smile of yours and flash that beauty of a cake you just made.  Now, wish them happy holidays and ask them if they feel up to sharing a piece of cake with you. Always remember to ask the staff it this is acceptable first. Angel food cakes are usually a hit. Many of these older folks are diabetic.

Many towns have a place where there are young and old alike who need to be taught living skills due to their disabilities. Many of these individuals have no family too. Think about going there and finding out their ages. Then, go to a store of your choice and buy them something special. Maybe a nice bath set would put a smile on their face and a warm feeling in yours.

Life is short. Let’s try to give to the less fortunate and watch the heartfelt blessing that will return double fold. God has given to so many of us the riches of prosperity. Why not give back a little of what was given to us and see what joy we can share with others.

Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it. It will also be gone before we know it too. Why not do something this year to make a smile happen on someone else’s face. Let’s think about all the moments God has given us. Now think about how it’s our turn to spread a little holiday cheer.

God bless you all this holiday season. Make it count. Spread a smile here and many smiles over there.
