Valentine’s Day – The Most Unromantic Day of The Year
There are many days and ways to show how much you love your partner. Valentine’s Day is not one of them! Many couples row, single men and women get depressed and the only real winners are the people selling cards and roses!
Valentine’s Day is probably the least romantic day of all for some couples. First of all there is the pressure of finding the right card and gift. There is always one partner who goes to great lengths to get it right, while the other invariably just buys whatever is handy and convenient on their way home from work. One of the loving pair will almost always feel a little disappointed – even if they say otherwise. It is the nature of the Valentine’s beast.
The real disappointment comes when one partner has gone the extra mile to seek a suitable valentine’s gift when their beau has completely forgotten and not even purchased a valentine’s card. Then, like a festering spot on the proverbial chin, a bitter argument ensues which has in many cases caused the couple to split up.
There is a terrible pressure to look and feel good for the romantic day and night ahead – regardless of how tired you are or how you actually feel. Even if you don’t feel the pressure from your loved one then you are likely to put the pressure upon yourself and most people find passion something that happens naturally and not something to be turned on and off like a tap. Many taps seize up completely on Valentine’s Day!
If you have kids then finding a babysitter can be difficult on Valentine’s Day and no doubt can cost you a small fortune.
The thought of booking a meal in a nice restaurant surrounded by other couples celebrating their love does not make your relationship feel unique and special – just another one of those couples who are paying twice the price to eat the same food they could have had for a reasonable price on most other days of the year!
The best way to celebrate your relationship is to probably avoid Valentine’s Day commercialism completely. After all – when you are in love, everyday is special. Even the days when you don’t feel so good or are exhausted after a difficult day at work.
Valentine’s Day is supposed to be about surprises but it rarely is. The real way to surprise the one you love is to bring them flowers when they least expect them or handwrite your own sentiment in a card without a verse. This way your love for each other will stand out and relationships like this are the real winners in the world of cupid.
