What’s The Rush
Old Father Time seems to be in such a hurry these days.

This is a time I greatly fear
It happens always, once a year
Sometimes I get in such a rage
At thought of turning a new page
I am content to live in the past
Would love to have those good times last
But now we hustle and scurry
Have no idea what’s the hurry
By time I go and blow my nose
Petals withered, can’t smell the rose
People shoving, people pushing
Don’t know why there’s so much rushing
Seems like only yesterday
We were alarmed with Y2K
But that was now 10 years ago
Where time went I just don’t know
Would love to make to good time last
Old Father Time waves hands too fast
And if I maybe be oh, so bold
Baby New Year will leave before she’s old
And so here I sit here frown on my face
Wrote this in a 10 minute frenzied pace
And so I’ll sit and loudly whine
Oh give me the days of Auld Lang Syne
So with these few words that kind of rhyme
I’d like to lament the passing of time
And as 2010 draws oh so near
I’d like to wish you a slower new year

This is excellent poetry. You are so right. People seem to be in such a hurry these days. Don’t be surprised if there are people booking their Christmas and New Year’s vacation for next year. Slower is definitely better.
Happy New Year!

I want it slower too Jimbo and they don’t kind of rhyme. They rhyme perfectly. Have a great new year, for when it gets here. PS: Don’t forget me in 2010.LOL
