Wilson Phillips-Christmas in Carnage

Wilson Phillips is back and schmearing Christmas cheer with new CD Christmas In Harmony.

Wilson Phillips doing a Christmas CD…I mean really? Really…I tuned in this morning because I had to see the trio in action once again. I could not believe that they were actually gutsy enough to put this out. Jeez girls, I mean come on. If you missed their stalwart performances on Good Morning America on December 3rd you missed an all time worst. Ok the deal is with their hit song was their harmonies. It was like cheezy but it got you singing along when no one was looking. “HOLD ON for one more day…” Their voices soared and they soared to the top of the charts with their only one hit wonder.  Now “Christmas in Harmony”. First of all where’s the harmony? They sang “I wish it could be Christmas every day” on the show and it was abominable.  Remember how -”embarassed for them while they were performing” you may have experienced in the past?  Like for me it was watching Donnie Osmond sing when he got older-That was embarrassment forth right…or Ashlee Simpson’s lip sync debackle on SNL? Oh how we winced. This was worse. Carnie was on the left with a  Mu MU with a prayer shawl, the other Wilson- Wendy was dressed in a dress made out of garbage bags and Chynna Phillips was wearing something straight off Dynasty from a bin at Crossroads Trading Post. They were all singing completely in their own worlds. No crooning harmonies, no lilts or la-la-las in unison. NO! They were all doing solos. This monstrosity-(no not Carnie with her weight back – fired from that company she dieted for) this trio was a tired and old. One of the things that made Wilson Phillips who they were were their sweetness and youthful vibrations. These gals were trying to upstage each other on GMA! What a venue to ego-blaze on! Carnie please. Do us all a favor and go home and scarf down a quart of Haagen-Dazs while watching RUBY. Stop performing! Maybe you want people to see that the bypass surgery lasted as long as your botox and your singing career lasted as long as a life of a snowflake. Christmas in Harmony ? Please Chirstmas in Carnage is more like it.
