OK. Before I start I just want to say that Valentines day is all about you girls. I must admit, there has been occasion when I have a new girlfriend that she buys me computer games, or a diary or some present usually associated with Christmases or birthdays.

On the whole though, valentines is a made up holiday (which, incidentally, I do agree with) that favours girls. Men always make the dinner reservations and send the cards and flowers and chocolate boxes to thier loved ones.

We usually don’t want anything back. We are not massive fans of flowers and chocolate.

However, two years ago I stumbled upon a website promoting BBB day and it was marketed as the male equivalent of Valentines day. The rules of this are pretty simple. The B’s each stand for a present you have to buy your man on this day. In return for his kindness on the 14th of February.

BBB day falls on the 14th March. Let me tell you what the B’s stand for… Beer, beef and a word I cannot write here but it starts with ‘B’ and ends in ‘job’.

Let me tell you ladies. I was with a girl for three years because she honoured BBB day each year (providing I honoured valentines day).

Give your man his valentines day. You wont regret it.
