The attacks on September 11, 2001, the U.S. date format (month / day) is often referred to as 9 / 11 (English: nine eleven), comprise four terrorist attacks on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001 using hijacked passenger planes in the Northeastern United States were executed. The Saudi multimillionaire Osama bin Laden and his Islamic terrorist organization Al Qaeda blamed for these attacks.
On this date dug two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, located at the southern tip of Manhattan in New York City and another plane into the Pentagon, near Washington DC A fourth plane crashed near of Shanksville (PA).
The attacks were carried out according to official reports by nineteen Middle East (especially Saudi Arabia) derived members of Al Qaeda.
These terrorist attacks are considered one of the largest in history. According to official figures from February 2005 when the attacks came in 2974 people from more than 90 countries killed, more than in the attack on Pearl Harbor. [1] [2] of 24 more missing persons are believed to have been deceased.

The World Trade Center, shortly after the collapse of the second tower
At 8:46 pm local time (2:46 p.m. Dutch / Belgian time) on the morning of September 11 hijacked passenger plane flew American Airlines Flight 11 to the north WTC tower within a considerable extent. Upon impact was a big explosion, after which the tower was burning. The tanks of the unit were still filled with kerosene, it had recently been taken off from Logan International Airport in Boston, bound for the West Coast.
Nearly twenty minutes later, at 9:03, crashed United Airlines Flight 175 is lower in the south tower, which also fire started. Initially, both towers remained standing, as those in the floors below the impact sites were still only provided an opportunity to flee. The south tower collapsed at 9:59 as the first completely, the north tower followed at 10:28 after having burned 102 minutes. It is almost everyone on that time in the towers was killed.Some people also deceased later lung diseases due to the massive amount of spilled material. Around 5:20 p.m. third was pouring from the WTC buildings completely, which afterwards proved a direct result of the damage to the building following the collapse of the Twin Towers had suffered. Besides hit the WTC buildings 3 t / m 6 badly damaged, most of which were subsequently demolished.

A fourth unit of United Airlines’ flight number 93, also hijacked, crashed that morning down in a field just outside Pittsburgh. The transcript of secret recordings from the cockpit is the FBI to make one of the hijackers suicide pilot Ziad Jarrah “advised the plane to crash to an end to the attempt by passengers to recapture.” It is assumed that this has prevented the intended target, possibly the Capitol or the White House, was achieved.All four passenger aircraft belonged to American Airlines and United Airlines and flew within the normal roster.Some wreckage of the aircraft were found scattered over several kilometers.
