A Dire Need for Peace on Earth
The world must come together in peace and amity, for the sake of humanity.
It is all the more urgent now to realize that the time is ripe to fully comprehend that there are problems that can lead to a catastrophe in this nuclear age, when fanaticism is on the rise, while hatred and malice are dominant.
When the idea to establish religion had dawned on the world, the purpose was essentially to focus on peace and goodwill. It was then a matter of importance for humanity, as well as a reminder that good surpasses evil and that the fear of God calls for peace, love and charity. Unfortunately, wars have continued unabated, and ideologies that had existed, prior to the concept of religion, still remains unmoved. Slavery has not come to a halt; there are dissensions among theologians, hatred and malice dominate societies while ideologies that are not relevant to the concept of religion continue to adulterate the essence of love and goodwill that had once been the cornerstones of peace, love and charity.
Today, one might wonder how and why fanaticism had infiltrated religion to the extent that it continues to engender animosities, mayhem and divisions, considered iniminical to peace and harmony on which the concept of any religion is based. Greed and power has replaced the virtues of love and understanding, nations are warring with one another; even violating the precepts contained within the pages of their holy books.
It behoves the nations of this world to cease politicizing religion, and realizing that in the end, the Earth may not continue to tolerate abuses in any shape or form, and that regardless of the divergence of ideologies, there is a dire need for peace and amity without which, humanity might be heading toward its own self-destruction.
