A Message to America
A message from a soldier to the american people about the wars.
September 11th is a disturbing date for all of America I am sure. When someone mentions that date an awkward silence fills the immediate area and everyone stares at each other waiting for the first to speak. It was a devastating sucker punch but we prevailed and grew as a nation, 5 months later we were told by our president that we were going to war against terrorism to rid the world of Osama Bin Laden and the Al Qaeda. The nation was happy to hear that we werent going to let this slide, that we were going to take action against our enemy, everyone wanted it. 9 years later here we are in the same country looking for the same person and the nation hates it so much that they are protesting a war they once believed in. As a soldier I just want to get some things off my chest that maybe some people are afraid to say.
First. Did you guys forget the sacrifice and sheer violence that is war? Did you think we were going to go there and they were simply going to put down their weapons? We are talking about a country that has countered invasions since alexander the great, in a harsh terrain against a formidable oppenent. Everyone knows what war is and what it consists of, there is nothing nice in it. We all knew Osama wasnt going to be there with his hands in the air and his white undies on a stick begging forgiveness. I understand that seeing your family, friends, dads, brothers, sisters, moms, etc. dying in the war is a very sad thing, trust me I have lost a lot of good people in this war, but we all knew what we were getting into when we signed up. For those that signed up before the war, well I know you werent expecting it, but you signed up to fight for this country not get a free ride through college.
Second. Why is it that the general public thinks we can just pack up and leave? We cant just leave our equipment there and let them have it and we cant just bomb it away. It takes time to mobilize all that stuff and sad to say it cant be done in a day. I know everyone just wants this to end but did you forget that we came here to liberate the world of Al Qaeda? Not take over Afghanistan. You people are so fickle and everything has to be your way, that you get so close minded you forget how things work(or you never did). If we leave now and afghanistan’s government gets taken over again(which it would) and we get attacked what are you guys going to say then? “Man, we should have stayed there and kept our eyes on them.” I mean seriously, come on.
Mr. Uday, Saddam’s eldest son tortured the iraqi soccor team when they lost or made a mistake? Bush knew he had WMD’s and gave Saddam plenty of time to cooperate with the UN, if he was doing what he was supposed to then why hide? You all loved him when we went to afghanistan and now all i hear is f**k Bush. So, you all voted for Obama who has to be the worst president in history. But, who am i? Just some stupid soldier fighting for something stupid.
The third and final. Stop hating on Bush! Yea, he wasnt the best there was but he tried his best. The Iraqi war was because of WMD’s the oil myth is getting ridiculous, i mean they burned almost all of it. Bush, was trying to make this world better for everyone, Saddam was crazy and so were his children. Did you know that

Surely you make some good points warrior; The American society is fickle and that’s why decisions to go to war rest with the executive branch in consultation with congress, but in all fairness the executive branch did tell the American people it would be a short war, and it was in error.
