A Shaky Sense of Freedom
The United States was founded by the people and for the people..All the people.
Not just those who agree and think alike..but for those who disagree as well.

The greatest document of our history goes on to describe the condition that our Founding Fathers found intolerable and that made it necessary for them to break away from England and set out on there own. From the earliest days of our Nation we prided ourselves on being a nation of questioners. Not a people content with setting by and being victims of whatever power hungry self-minded leader was in charge at the time. Not a people that allowed their self respect and dignity to be forfeit so that the accepted customs of the day could be fulfilled.

We were not a single minded people who thought only of themselves, or a people who wanted only to look good to the rest of the world. No we were a people who saw what was important..Freedom and Liberty. The freedom given by our creature to pursue our dreams and work to feed our families, a people who truly believed that if we could dream it we could do it. Were we perfect? No, but we were learning and trying. Our Founding father built upon the learning of the day that was available to them, and the experience of the past. They saw the suffering of the people and the price that was paid by the week so that the strong could continue to get stronger. They saw a need for a change and agreed that the option to change was tyranny and the sacrifice of their individual and family values. They saw in each other the worth of one over the needs of the elite, and set out to establish a home for this freedom and a spawning ground for the dreams of the future.
What have we done with the Legacy left to us by those men and women? What would they say if they returned today and witnessed the results of their blood , sweat and tears?
Well if they tuned into SNL (Saturday Night Live) Thursday night they would have been confused. Or if they saw the thousands of reports given at any moment criticizing those who speak out against the current administration. Some would agree with the current state of affairs in Washington and some would disagree with the direction our Nation is moving in. One thing is for sure, they would debate it, they would give equal time to both arguments and let the people ultimately decide.
