A Short Paragraph on Why Fireworks Should be Legal in New York

Fireworks have been a controversial subject in ny for a long time. Right now, fireworks are illegal totally, minus sparklers, party poppers, and strobes. Now what i find ironic is that statistically sparklers cause more injuries per year than firecrackers! and firecrackers are illegal! to me that doesnt make sense. to go even further, i can go to walmart (as a minor) and buy estes rocket motors that shoot a 20 foot jet of fire out the back, and if left on the ground explode after a predetermined amount of seconds. But i can’t buy firecrackers! An 18 year adult can go out and buy a 12 gauge shotgun and ammo, oh but they can’t buy firecrackers! to me this law makes no sense at all. Now i am sure there are going to be people reading this article saying “but the intent of fireworks is entertainement. guns are used for multiple purposes”. I say no. Hunting nowadays is recreational and i know plenty of people (i included) who shoot firearms recreationally. My main point is that i think they should make fireworks legal, or at a minimum, make firecrackers legal.
