Abortion: America Gone Wild

The 21st Century is an STD ridden, drunken night at the bar. The cameras are rolling and America is flashing everything she’s got.

The consequences of sex are told to children at least by 6th grade, so if people don’t listen, it’s their own fault. A person wanting a free pass to end a life (murder) that they knowingly created (and again, we all know that sex can create a baby,) is completely absurd. Since when does the 21st century have to mean people behave more stupidly and selfishly? Everything is cheap, fast, shoddy, and fake- anything to get a thrill as quickly as possible. Yeah, it is a woman’s own body, but once she and another person create a life within her body, then it’s no longer just her body. Inside her is a person with its own rights and freedoms. We have a limit where the parents have a say until the child is 18 only because as a society we have decided that the child is still learning and developing mentally until then. But even still, the parents do not own that child.

There really is no excuse either because there are condoms, abstinence, adoption, birth control (which can and should be used with condoms,) and even the morning after pill (which stops the cells from forming together in the first place.) Humans like to claim freedom to do the meanest, most ignorant things to others. Our “freedom” and entitlement blinds us to common decency, respect, and at least some thread of morality. Someone get America another glass, or whatever she needs to keep her satisfied. She wants to get sloppy and jiggle her rights in every ones face. Instead of “America- the home of the free,” it should be, “America- home of the irresponsible.”

Was this for the recent thread we were talking about? heheeh

I have always wondered, why can’t everyone live and let live. Life would be so peaceful. Don’t you agree.

Thumbs up! Great social awareness article on the sad realities of the 21st century. I characterize as “The 21st Century Crisis” in a recent song I posted.. Really solid and enlightening article!

Thought provoking. My humble opinion. The only one that counts is the mothers.

Everyone has a right to his point of view. I am interested in individual thoughts on any subject.

Good comparison, “People can go to jail for harming a baby inside a mother’s stomach. They can get murder charges, so why is that different when a mother asks a doctor to do it?”

I agree with some of your insights. A person is free to choose to have sex but they should not be free to harm another when dealing with the consequences of their free choice.

I’m doing a series of articles about abortion and in researching what actually transpires, it becomes apparent that informed consent should be the order of the day.

Mothers should have to watch an actual abortion before deciding if they want to go that route. As a society, we’ve come to believe that it is a routine and safe medical procedure. We have been shielded from the horrifying reality of the unborn being torn limb from limb, from the bloody butchery that it really is.

Nice article indeed. I am we still such people like you with passion and inspiration directed by God himself. It\’s just a matter of true prayer and sacrifice for the whole world to for a while turn to God. This has really fallen apart!

    Great article!
I won’t comment on abortion itself as I still haven’t quite figured out where I stand on it. I would like to say a little something on the first paragraph though. It’s long been my opinion that our society is too obsessed with the pain and suffering of others. Walk into any supermarket (in North America at least) and you will find reams of celebrity gossip and tabloid magazines. Why is it that websites like perezhilton are so popular, literally thousands upon thousands of hits a day, when the sole purpose of the site is to let us in on all the dirty little secrets that these normal people, albeit famous, don’t want us to know?
As a society we are so obsessed with pain and conflict that we will do anything to get our fix, including throwing our morals off to the wayside.
    Great insight Sweetievee!!

Wow, I am really impressed. This was incredibly well written and shows the depth of your emotional investment. One thing though, if you believe that abortion is murder, then are there really any good arguments for its continued practice?
