Abortion: Taking a Stand

This is one mans opinion on a subject that is at best ,controversial and a subject that I believe will always needs to be spoken about .just because you don’t subscribe to another human beings beliefs, doesn’t mean you have the right to denounce them it just means you don’t agree.with that said I would like to give credit to Drew Diligence for his overwhelming contribution to this piece.

The lack of sexual education and a social atmosphere whereby sexual intercourse is deemed immoral, perpetrate an environment in which our young are forced to confront their delusions of morality, and fight against the nature of their own bodies. This may be an available option to those Spartan few amongst us, who by virtue of a skewed and disturbed mentality can deny their urges in favor of a more masochistic, supposedly moral lifestyle. A more open approach to discussion with our young people about sex, what it is, what’s appropriate, and allowing them to obtain birth control, is a more productive attitude, and would do more to reduce abortion than most other measures.

A “just say no” policy is a worthless pandering to a male dominated egocentric fraternity that seems to want to deny the progress of the last hundred years as some sort of ethical malaise. They see no hand of God in the advent of medical and social evolution. They seem contemptuous of a world which has long since moved on from the patriarchal family structure. Rather than consider the merits of birth control and sexual education, in a world where pornography and deviancy are a mouse click away, they choose to bury their collective head in the sand and fight against the very ideas that would lead to a decrease in abortion. A sin so great that abortion clinics are built with bullet proof glass! One may ponder the morality of killing someone in order to prevent abortion, the supposed killing of another.

Even with the best birth control available, unwanted pregnancies can occur. It is the absolute right of the woman to choose whether to carry the child or not. It is far better to carry out an abortion within the confines of a medical practice, where all of the medical and psychological services are on hand, to ensure the best possible outcome for the person involved; than to revert to a bygone era when abortion was an underground industry, replete with kitchen tables and knitting needles.

Contrary to the opinion of the anti abortionists, women have been exercising their right to choose from time immemorial. Women have practiced abortion by various means through the ages. The fact that women have chosen to abort ,often at great risk to themselves, should give some pause to those who seem to want to simplify a complex emotional, social, and personal issue, to a sound bite.

For those who believe that abortion is the font of all evil, you may wish to give some thought to the above. Because a view that some moral code or other enacted from on high will stop abortion is to dismiss the truth of history, and the flawed aspect of our nature.

This is basically a statement made in a heated thread in a writers forum that expressed one persons opinion ,i felt that this person made important statements and put a lot out there for people to think about therefore i wanted to spread his thoughts a little further than that thread or forum .although many will not agree with him i believe he lakes very god points and does it in a realistic and intelligent way .

Good to take this on. I think it all depends on the individual situation and persons involved, nobody else really has a say or should for that matter.
